I am cleaning out my clippings folder - ah less paper - and found
this tidbit I'd clipped from Wired (in August of 2005). Lucky for you,
it's online on the Wired site. It's a key-chain that interacts with wireless sensors in your home and takes a snapshot as you walk away. I was checking out
the website of the company that makes it, Eaton - Home Heartbeat, and it looks like they have water sensors that will trigger a water shut off valve in the case of leak or flood. That's pretty cool.

As I become more neurotic and irrational the idea of a device that senses if my door is closed or the iron off has a certain appeal. My current solution is to just about face and walk up 3 the three flights and double check. Ah neurosis my old friend - like a warm blanket of senility.
